Scott Andriske secures thrilling maiden win at Symmons Plains

TFH Racing’s Scott Andriske has won his maiden Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Series presented by TFH Hire race in thrilling fashion to open the Round 2 at Symmons Plains.

Starting in light fog, Andriske was beaten off the start by MTA NSW’s Kody Garland, but made an audacious pass for the lead in the closing stages to snatch the win.

Garland held on to second from Osborn’s Transport driver Joel Heinrich, who in turn successfully made a last gasp pass for third to demote Corish Motorsports’ Mason Harvey to fourth.

The lead quartet put on a thrilling show for the lead during the race’s duration after breaking away at the start. This was aided when the second TFH Racing entry of Des Collier was spun at Turn 2 by lead Rookie Cup contender Caleb Paterson for Norganic Proteins Australia.

Each of the quartet traded lap record times, but this ended in favour of Garland after achieving a 1m 00.399s to break his own previous benchmark set in 2021.

Behind the lead quartet, Riskie Racing’s Brandon Madden was a distant fifth after a charge through the field due to a lowly qualifying position.

Kent Quinn was up next to win Masters Cup driving the Norganic Proteins Australia entry from Motorsport25/Racer Industries’ Reece Chapman and Andrew Corish for Corish Motorsports.

Gold Cup winner Scott Dornan was next in the Action Line Marking Camaro, while Jack Boyd completed the top 10 after an overnight engine change by his Johnston Craill Racing Enterprises team.

The Rookie Cup was secured by Kyle Lovering ahead of Paterson following a late race drama and Kim Anderson.

Joseph Andriske and Jeff Watters finished behind Dornan in Gold Cup.

Cody Mckay and Shane Mann have a little work to do to catch the returning reigning Masters Cup winner Quinn.

Race 2 for the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Series presented by TFH Hire is scheduled for 1:25pm AEST and will be broadcast live on Kayo/Fox Sports 506.
