Teams descend on Tassie for Round 2

Our Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series drivers, teams and families are all about to descend upon Launceston in Tasmania for our second round of the 2021 Championship.

Symmons Plains Raceway is one of two shorter circuits we will be racing at this year, the second one is Morgan Park Raceway in Warwick Queensland for round four in June, what they also have in common is it will be cold, it was just 2C overnight in Tassie, and winter in Warwick can see morning temps dip to -5C!!

Once you get over the cold both tracks provide the perfect conditions for our well known exciting three car wide racing!!

Symmons Plains has seen some of the category’s most amazing on track battles, especially in the wet! The weather this weekend is expected to be fine but that won’t stop the battles!

Nick Simmons currently sits 1st in the championship with Craig Woods knocking on his door just one point behind, and another point behind is Joel Heinrich - these guys will need to be on their game straight out of the truck as there’s another 20 odd drivers looking to take them on!!

It’s just a two day race meeting meaning we have practice, qualifying and race 1 on Saturday and Sunday with three more races, with only a few hours between sessions, there is no margin for error, and even worse if you need an engine change, which we normally see a couple over the course of a weekend!

The short event will pay dividends to drivers that can race hard but take it “easy” on the machinery - yeah ok we know they are race drivers lol

😝

Keep an eye on our page for updates and photos, along with our Facebook LIVE videos over the course of the weekend, plus catch the action on Fox Sports and Kayo.

NB: the schedule has changed slightly as per the updated supplementary regulations below from Supercars. Here’s to a great weekend of racing!

As always, A Big Thanks to:
