Having a Cooldrive at Bathurst

Whilst not actual team-mates the Cooldrive sponsored Aussie Racing Cars of Josh Anderson and Reece Chapman managed a 1-2 finish for the fifth round of the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series at the Bathurst 12Hour event.

Both Josh and Reece are long-time Aussie Car drivers, in fact they both pretty much grew up with the category, starting out as Rookies and working through to be racing for the championship.

It was only right for them to join when their fathers called time on racing the pocket rockets, Reece's dad Chad has been around the Aussie for what seems a lifetime (he might even say that himself) so it was natural for Reece to take over. And Josh's stepdad Darren is an ex-champion of the category.

Having the Cooldrive sponsorship across two of the fastest Battery World Aussie Racing cars is pretty.... well cool actually!! Both cars look the goods and would take out the prize of best presented if we had one. A recent photo from the Bathurst round was posted on the boys pages with their cars alongside that of Tim Slades Cooldrive Ford Mustang Supercar.

Josh won the round with 203 points from Reece on 196 points, yet another closely fought competition.

This weekend is the category's penultimate round, to be contested at The Bend Motorsport Park, heading into the round Josh is leading the series points with 239, but Reece is a close second with just two points separating the two, he's on 237, also tied with third placed Lachlan Ward.

Friday sees the cars on track for practice followed by qualifying, then two races each Saturday and Sunday.
