Big Thumbs Up for Aussie Racing Cars Night race

The Battery World Aussie Racing Cars had their first ever night race during round 3 at Sydney Motorsport Park, whilst the weekend was shortened due to time constraints and thick fog on Sunday morning we did have 4 on track sessions, with practice, qualifying and two races.

Qualifying and Race 1 were both at night, quals was just on dusk and provided some great photo opportunities for our media team, and the first race was in total darkness, well beyond the lights it was totally dark, the 100+ light poles certainly lit up the 4.5km "Brabham Circuit" like it was daylight.

Sparks and back-fire flames could be seen through-out the field. We spoke to a number of the drivers after the sessions and they were "buzzing" after the race, many said it was like driving in a tunnel, a few said they didn't notice too much difference and they just focused on the car or cars ahead.

We have grabbed a few in car videos from the racing so you can take a look what it's like to race an Aussie Car under lights. If you are keen to join us racing, please use our contact us up the top of the page.

Round four gets underway at Morgan Park Raceway on the 25-27 June, MPR is 2 hours South West of Brisbane City in the Darling Downs town of Warwick, we will be racing on their 3.0km long circuit, it's very much suited to our pocket rockets, its tight with both slow and high-speed turns. We will again be with the Shannon's Motorsport Australia series, alongside TCR Australia and other ARG classes.
