Round Two Tasmania SuperSprint

THE CURTAIN has closed on one of the best weekends of Aussie Racing Cars racing, round two the Tasmanian SuperSprint at Symmons Plains Raceway provided some of the best racing ever seen by the class in its 20 years. Western Sydney Motorsport were the form team with Justin Ruggier taking the overall spoils for the race meeting and Super2 ace Bryce Fullwood coming third, team owner Craig Thompson also won the Gold Cup. They didn't have it all their own way however, right through all four races there was a bevy of drivers vying for the top spots, Sean Rose Motorsports class acts were Daniel Price who put his Camaro on pole in qualifying, and Adam Uebergang who was second for the round overall. COLOURFUL CHARACTER BACK ON TRACK

One of the Aussie Racing Cars "colourful characters" joins us once again, the gentle giant that is Adam Uebergang is set to join the class at next weekend's second round down in Tasmania. Uebergang last ran with the Aussie Cars at our final round of the 2018 Championship on the Gold Coast where he finished 5th for the weekend in his Uebergang Transport Camaro.  Although for the past couple of seasons he's been unable to do the whole year, he has chosen the long distance events (travel wise) to run in, Adam ran last year at the Darwin special invitation round. 2018 CHAMP JOINS THE FIELD FOR TASMANIAN ROUND

Our 2018 Champion Joel Heinrich will join the field at the second round of the 2019 Championship, Heinrich used his couple of years in the Aussie Cars to step up to the Supercars Super2 series, the second tier to the main game for 2019. The Super2 series are not due to have their second round of the year until the Supercars Round 5 at the PIRTEK SuperNight event at Barbagallo Raceway. GREAT MOTORSPORT ANNIVERSARIES COINCIDE 20th & 50th

 In its 20th year, Aussie Racing Cars (ARC) is proud to welcome back to the grid, ARC founder, Phil Ward as he celebrates 50th years of participation in Australian Motorsport. The category was invented and developed by race driver and engineer Phil Ward with the first car being rolled out of his workshop in 1997.  The cars were all hand built by Ward and the chassis and suspension design was tested over many track sessions at Ward’s monthly corporate Kart day’s called Kart Blanche which were run at Sydney’s Oran Park Raceway.  The first cars were sold to corporate karting guests at Kart Blanche long before CAMS sanction and long before the a national series for the cars was initiated.  From then on the category…

TONY QUINNS 2019 AUSSIE RACING CAR 2019 LIVERY UNVEILED

Aussie Racing Cars owner Tony Quinn has today unveiled his Mustangs new livery for 2019, naming right sponsors Local Legends Jerky/Biltong adorn the Black and Gold car. The pocket rockets head into their 20th seasons this year and all seven rounds are alongside the Supercars, Quinns car is among a number of cars that have shown their colours before the first round of the series at the SuperLoop Adelaide 500. "We'll have one of the brightest racing classes on track this year with all the colourful liveries I have seen so far" said category manager Brad Ward. 20th Anniversary Season Launch and Logo

The 2018 season of Aussie Racing Cars competition has now concluded with the crowning of a new champion on the Gold Coast and as we reflect on the past season, Australia’s “entertainment” category now looks to 2019 - the 20th anniversary of this great championship. As the category celebrated all of the 2018 achievements at a Gala Dinner on the Gold Coast, Category Management also unveiled the special 20th Anniversary Official Logo. The special logo features a golden laurel leaf pattern with fireworks to signify the exciting racing over the double decade. JOSH ANDERSON ON DOUBLE DUTIES THIS WEEKEND AT SMP

Young Aussie Racing Car driver and 2018 Rookie Josh Anderson is on double racing duties this weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park.  Anderson will race his #36 RDA Brakes/Perenso Camaro Aussie Racing Car in his 6th round for the year that has seen him no lower than 8th position and a podium (3rd) at the Winton round.  This coming weekend alongside the Aussie Car duties he will also be a contender in the Motum Simulation VSR Showdown. It is the first of its kind to be piloted by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS), with digital licences, regulations and permits issued for the first time. ROUND 5 THE BEND SUPERSPRINT PREVIEW

In the past 19 years the Aussie Racing Cars have visited no fewer than 23 circuits in Australia and New Zealand.  The last two “new” tracks were in New Zealand and are owned by the category’s owner Tony Quinn, Hampton Downs an hour south of Auckland and the amazing Highland Park at Cromwell deep in the South Island. This weekend the Aussie Racing Cars are again on the Supercars undercard and at the brand-new Tailem Bend circuit.
