Round 5 Sydney Motorsport Park Weekend Wrap Up

The penultimate round of the 2016 Aussie Racing Cars Championship was held at Sydney Motorsport Park last weekend in very trying weather conditions.  Friday morning dawned wet but slowly fined up.  This was a kind of blessing in disguise as it gave the teams the opportunity to set the cars up for both the dry and wet conditions which would be needed before the weekend finished! The last round to be run on Australian soil this year was part of the New South Wales Motor Race Championships, 250 cars were entered over 9 categories but it was the Aussie Racing Cars that were the stand out category with nearly 40 cars on the grid. The pocket rockets were first up on Friday to a track…

Aussie Racing Cars Round 4 Queensland Raceway Weekend Wrap

THE FOURTH round of the Aussie Racing Cars Championship has seen mixed fortunes for some, outstanding success for others with a mix of disasters to fight backs across the field.  Without a doubt the Aussie Racing Cars were the outstanding class in all of the races at the Queensland Raceway event. From the word go on Friday morning Kel Treseder (KKP Motorsport Camaro) was to set the pace for the weekend, if you could beat Treseder you were going to be on top, however one or two came close but none managed.  With 3 wins from 4 races he was destined to be on the top step of the podium. Trying hard to match the Queenslanders speed were two Sydneyites in James Duckworth (RDA Brakes/Rinkin Racing…

Home circuit return for pocket rockets

QUEENSLAND RACEWAY could benefit the home teams at the fourth round of the Aussie Racing Cars Championship Series at the Ipswich circuit. The event is effectively home turf for the category and many of the teams that reside in the near proximity have been able to test in recent times. It will be more difficult for their interstate rivals as Aussie Racing Cars have not had a series round at this track since 2014. The home teams may well have the advantage having tested here just days before, however like the Supercars sometimes the home town advantage can get the better of you, and with a packed grid of over 30 cars everyone will be vying for a step on the podium and to bank…
