Aussie Racing Cars are Clipsal’s Biggest Field

The Aussie Racing Cars are well known for pack racing, the unique cars, aptly named pocket rockets are often 3 or 4 wide at just about all the tracks they venture too. Next weekend’s Clipsal 500 is for the most part a wide circuit.  Without a doubt it will need to be, for the first round of the 2016 series, 41 cars have been entered! No other class this weekend or even all year long will field that many competitors and it's a class field, a past champion in Klye Clews is returning joining the Rinkin Motorsport team in a Nissan Altima and he’s ready for more time at the front.  And last year’s champ Brendon Pingel is excited to be defending his title.  A…

Brendon Pingel ready for title defence!!

For Immediate Release Seems like only yesterday when we were sharing in the excitement of winning the 2015 title and it was certainly a great event at the CAMS National Night of Champions in Melbourne last Saturday. It’s now back down to motor racing business and I’m certainly proud to have a bunch of new sponsors on board including - Bunning agricultural engineers, Sloanebuilt Trailers, MPS web consulting services, Land Transport and also great supporters from  past years, Superior Signs, Autopro Gatton and Haines Constructions. I am deeply grateful to all of these support partners. We’ve also got an exciting new website developed by MPS web consulting services launching prior to round 1 which will integrate all our social media platforms and provide up-to-date reports,…

This is Gold!

Craig Thompson has lifted the covers off his Aussie Racing Car ride for the 2016 season, Thompson’s Mustang GT will sport an amazing coat of gold chrome with black trim, it’ll be hard to miss on the track. “Hertz Australia have approved a Special addition of the hertz Logo for this car only. It is to represent the introduction of the Ford Mustang onto the hertz Fleet later in the year. These are the colours made famous by the 1967 Hertz GT-350H SPECIAL ADDITIONAL and I thank hertz for the opportunity to represent it” said Thompson. This will be Thompsons third season in the Aussie Racing Car Series “I started out with Mike Rinkin in 2014 we had a two car team, I then went…

Penultimate Aussie Racing Car Round – Phillip Island

The second to last round for the 2015 Aussie Racing Cars gets under way in just 3 days, many of the teams have already begun the trip south, our third overseas if you like ;) Last year this round was our final for 2014 and the championship was almost already decided, Darren Chamberlin (Chambo) was the eventual champion in the end after a long hard fought year. Coming into this round Queensland’s Brendon Pingel (296pts) has a strong lead in the championship but not an unassailable one from Victorian Chris Stevenson (267pts) whom has been steady all year long, Pingel has won the last two rounds and is sure to be wanting to continue that form.  Another Queenslander Adam Uebergang sits in third just 4…

Aussie Racing Cars Bathurst Weekend Wrap

It was a challenging round 5 of the 2015 Aussie Racing Cars Championship at Mount Panorama, Bathurst.  The pocket rockets fielded more cars than any other category at the mountain with the main aim to put on an unforgettable show, and they did! The excitement started to build on Tuesday when the teams started making their way to the mountain.  By Wednesday the pits were full and the teams were buzzing, the cars were being prepared ready to tackle the tough 23 cornered circuit. Mount Panorama is classed as Australia’s mecca for motorsport, only used as a circuit 3-4 times per year the other 360+ days it’s a tourist route where you can take your daily drive for a stroll.  If you have been lucky…

Aussie Racing Cars set to do Battle at the Mountain

It is without a doubt the Bathurst 1000 is Australasia’s biggest racing event outside of the F1, “the punters” come from far and wide, and indeed so do our drivers and teams, we’ll field cars from every state this coming weekend. The current Aussie Racing Car Lap record is 2:32.5206 held by Peter Carr which he set back in 2011 in his Toyota Aurion, we expect to see race times of around two minutes 34 seconds, of course this will depend upon the track conditions and the long range forecast sees rain for Saturday but fine Thursday and Friday. The ARC track time will start early into the event, with the pocket rockets hitting the track at 8.15am on Thursday for the 20 minute practice…

Round Four; Aussie Racing Cars will Dominate Sydney Motorsport Park

Continuing as Australia's biggest racing championship the Aussie Racing Cars will field 38 of our specialised single seater tin top racers.  Aptly named the "Pocket Rockets" that’s just what they are, with a power to weight ratio not seen in any other class.  It’s been 3 years since the class raced at Sydney Motorsport Park as part of the V8Supercar Series. "We may not be the biggest cars on the track but we are by far Australia's biggest category in numbers, I'm very excited to have 38 of our cars lined up for next weekend" said Brad Ward category manager.  "This round sees 3 or 4 new drivers join us, plus the return of a few very fast drivers not seen this year" he said.…

Aussie Racing Cars Heading North

The cars are being prep'd, the trucks are being fuelled, flights are booked, rooms are waiting and our northern fan base are biting at the bit to see the pocket rockets hit Australia's northern most race track. Darwin's Hidden Valley Raceway is seriously suited to the ARC series.  Its 2.9km anti-clockwise circuit will see the Yamaha powered mini rocket ships hit 230km/hr down the front straight. Our season started across the ditch back in January and by the time we hit Darwin we (the cars and teams) have travelled 8647Km over land and sea, and that’s just from our home base in QLD, the interstate teams have travelled even further!  Making ARC not only the largest Australian racing category but also the second most travelled…
