Practice two Friday saw our pocket rockets head out on to a mostly dry or drying circuit for the second 20 min session. Tasmanian local Adam Gowans put his local knowledge to good use setting the fastest time from the round one winner Craig Woods with Queenslander Brendon Tucker 3rd fastest.
Darren Chamberlin is coming to grips with the differences of his old car and the Camaro, “it’s a very different car with a different setup from the old car”. Quote of the day goes to Jeff Watters when asked how practice went, “it was great, it was like driving through a car wash with the windows down!”
Ruthie Racer, being Ruth Bowler commented that she was happy with the car but needed to find a couple of extra seconds on the lead cars! Western Australian driver Greg Miskiewicz was happy with the car setup, and had two top tens in practice, “it’s pretty slippery and we were on old tyres so it was as expected, tomorrow should be good” said Miskiewicz.
Team leader for Western Sydney Motorsport Craig Thompson was happy with the teams run in both practices, “Woodys up front and Grant and I are working our way forward”.
New comer Myles Bond had a bit of “baptism by fire” in turn one losing control and smashing the front splitter. James Duckworth’s 2nd Practice didn’t go to plan with a mechanical issue which saw him drop a load of oil down Symmons Plain’s long straight and into the tight hairpin. This bought out the red flag and ended the session. Tomorrow we have qualifying and two races.
