David Lawrence was able to take victory in round 3 of the Aussie Racing Cars Super Series today after the category saw three different race winners on the final day at Victoria’s Winton Raceway today.

Lawrence was victorious in race 1 yesterday but it was Tasmania’s Adam Gowans who broke away in race 2 today to lead from start to finish with series leader Kyle Clews coming home second. Lawrence was third with Tyler Owen fourth.

Race 3 saw Toyota’s Neil Bates take the lead on lap one and a race-long battle ensued between Lawrence and Clews after Bates dropped out of contention mid-race.

It was Clews who ended up winning and Peter Carr got the better of Lawrence on the last lap to fill second place with Lawrence behind him.

The final was set for a winner take all battle between Clews and Lawrence, and that it was.

Clews took the early lead before Lawrence overcame him on lap 3. This proved to be the round winning move when Clews was unable to gain the lead back.

Gowans ended up third in the race and on the day with Lawrence winning and Clews taking the second place on the podium.

Shane Wolki returned to the winners circle in the Masters Cup with series leader Darren Chamberlin finishing second and Shane Sullivan third.
