ROUND 5 THE BEND SUPERSPRINT PREVIEW

Aussie Racing Cars

In the past 19 years the Aussie Racing Cars have visited no fewer than 23 circuits in Australia and New Zealand.  The last two “new” tracks were in New Zealand and are owned by the category’s owner Tony Quinn, Hampton Downs an hour south of Auckland and the amazing Highland Park at Cromwell deep in the South Island. This weekend the Aussie Racing Cars are again on the Supercars undercard and at the brand-new Tailem Bend circuit. The Bend Motorsport Park is the latest edition to the Supercars calendar and when late last year at the Aussie Car’s Gala Dinner it was revelled that the 2018 calendar included this (and at the time unfinished) circuit, it was fair to say the drivers and teams were…

Aussie Racing Cars

Its been two years since the Aussie Racing Cars have held a round of the championship at Queensland Raceway, essentially, it’s the classes’ permanent home circuit with only the Gold Coast event closer to HQ on the Goldie. Aussie Racing Cars

Did you miss any of the Aussie Racing Cars action last weekend from the Winton SuperSprint Supercars event?  We have these for you below. If you’d like to see all the exciting action you can review the photographs here from our Facebook Gallery. Friday Wrap BACK FOR the first time in five years to the rural Victorian circuit, the Aussie Racing Cars turned on a sizzling qualifying session for round three of the Championship Series. Conditions were tricky with a drying track and a dry line apparent as the session progressed – unlike the earlier wet practice session. Therefore, it was no surprise to see several spinners, but no damage resulted. AUSSIE RACING CARS ROUND 3 WINTON PREVIEW

Winton

Its been Five years since the Aussie Racing Cars have raced at Winton and only a small handful of drivers in this year’s championship raced there in 2013, a couple of teams have practiced there this year, but that makes the majority of drivers going in blind. Winton is a unique tight and twisty layout which suits the pocket rockets perfectly.  12 corners and three straights provide plenty of passing opportunities with the infamous turn 1 and 2 providing some serious wheel to wheel action. The track is quite wide as well and we expect to see plenty of overtaking into turns one through four and then again over the back of the circuit for six through nine. The weather will play a part in…
