After 16 weeks 6 Days and 20 something hours the Aussie Racing Car Championships is set to reignite for the 2017 Championship.

The Clipsal 500 in Adelaide is always a favourite of everyone within the Pocket Rocket family and this years event is sure to ignite both the drivers and teams, and of course the fans for the series journey.

The current champion James Duckworth is back to defend his title, but there are another 30 plus drivers looking to topple him off the podium.

2017 sees a new group of rookie drivers join the class, each trying to forge a successful career in the Aussie Racing Cars and some with a desire to use the class as a stepping stone to other National Categories maybe even International.

Towards the end of last year’s championship, a hand full of young drivers battled for the top spot on the podium and in preseason testing they continue to impress, the opening round races will without a doubt be exciting to watch and participate in.

This year four of the seven rounds are on unique street circuits, first stop in Adelaide has the fastest turn for a street circuit in the remarkable turn eight, this weekend will test the drivers and a few will undoubtedly come unstuck, but with both luck and skill the class hopes to field the biggest on track numbers for the whole weekend long.

The next street circuit on the cards will be Townsville, it’s been 5 years since the class has visited this venue and it rates close to the Clipsal event in fun!  Following that the concrete jungle that is the Gold Coast 600 is next, the back-beach chicanes are the most exciting part of any circuit in Australia for the Aussie Racing Cars.

The last round is of course the brand new track at Newcastle and the class is extremely pleased to be one of the chosen few classes to battle around the streets of beautiful Newcastle in November.

The purpose built tracks that will feature this year are Hidden Valley in Tasmania for round two, Barbagello in Perth for our third round and Sydney Motorsport Park for the fourth round.

New to the category this year is the classes new “drivers lounge” where our teams and drivers can mingle with the public and of course their all-important sponsors, be sure to drop by the lounge which is situated within our pits nestled in Victoria Park.

But before all of this, the party begins at the Clipsal 500 alongside the Supercars, the 2017 season is about to get underway, make sure you get trackside, or watch all our events on Fox Sports, keep an eye on our website and Facebook pages.
